USA will begin the defence of their previous World Cup title in France 2015 on Saturday lunchtime at Eden Park when they take on debutants Vietnam with the World Cup holders going in search of an easy three points to launch their group campaign with a successful start.

The defending World champions have produced a string of impressive results in preparation for this upcoming tournament in Australia and New Zealand as Vlatko Andonovski's side have won their last nine internationals on the trot, scoring a total of 21 goals in the process and conceding just twice, whilst also keeping no fewer than seven clean sheets as well.

This dominating sequence of results augers well for a successful group campaign in Group E where USA are expected to finish head and shoulders above the likes of their main competitors, Netherlands and Portugal who are likely to be fighting it out for the remaining top two spot in the group.

Vietnam also registered a 2-0 win against Myanmar in the final of the SouthEast Asian Games recently in May but results since that tournament do not appear to bode well for Vietnam in this upcoming group campaign amongst a tough looking Group E.

Three defeats in subsequent matches to Germany, New Zealand and Spain, the latter being a comprehensive 9-0 dismantling at the hands of the Spaniards could spell trouble for Vietnam in this opening group match with the dominant force in women's world football, USA.

Although Vietnam remain a force in the Asian section of world football, they have only occasionally been up against the more illustrious of nations but on the few occasions that they've met such teams in recent times, Vietnam have been dealt defeats by France 7-0, Germany 2-1 and the aforementioned 9-0 thrashing by Spain.

USA will therefore be keen to get off the mark straight away with three points here in this opening game of Group E and the current World Cup holders are unlikely to show any mercy as they look to defend their title in no uncertain fashion at Eden Park on Saturday lunchtime, which could produce a number of goals in the process.
