Next up is a top versus bottom clash in the Western Conference between the league leaders, St Louis City and their basement dwelling visitors, Colorado Rapids, when the two teams face off at CITYPARK with a valuable three points up for grabs for both sides on Saturday evening.

St Louis City ended a worrying spell of four games without a win in the MLS last time out when they registered a welcome 2-1 win away from home at San Jose Earthquakes which has helped maintain St Louis' position at the summit of the Western Conference although they are now level on 32 points apiece with second-placed Los Angeles heading into this weekend's action.

Recent defeats to Dallas, Nashville and Real Salt Lake had threatened to undo all of St Louis City's good work beforehand, but the win last time out should settle the hosts down for this upcoming clash with Colorado Rapids.

St Louis City have been pretty steady at home in this their first ever season in the MLS, winning six of their 10 games to date.

It's been a disappointing campaign so far for Colorado Rapids as the visitors sit bottom of the Western Conference with just 14 points to their name and already find themselves 11 points adrift of a Final Series play-off spot thanks to picking up just two wins to date this term.

Recent results though seem to suggest that Colorado Rapids deserve to be floundering near the bottom of the Conference anyway as the visitors have failed to win any of their last eight matches overall and have also lost six of these eight games as well, thus making this upcoming trip to CityPark a potentially tough one.

The bigger picture shows Colorado Rapids have managed to capture just two wins from their last 20 matches overall in the MLS but although they're still looking for their first win on home turf this season, the two wins to date at least came on their travels with wins at Sporting Kansas and LA Galaxy.

But having collected just three wins from their previous 27 outings on the road, the odds look to be firmly stacked against Colorado Rapids on Saturday evening and further disappointment could be waiting just around the corner at CityPark.
