Another top seven clash is featured in the Western Conference this weekend when Seattle Sounders take on Los Angeles at Lumen Field with the hosts going in search of a sixth league win on the trot, while Los Angeles were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Real Salt Lake during the week which became a second game on the trot without a win in the MLS.

Six wins within their last seven games overall in the MLS will no doubt give Brian Schmetzer's side plenty of belief and confidence heading into this upcoming encounter especially as five of these previous six wins have been achieved on home turf at their Lumen Field.

Victories against Minnesota United, Dallas, Chicago Fire, New England Revolution and St Louis City respectively underline Seattle Sounders' recent upturn in form while the bigger picture shows the hosts have slipped to just two defeats in their last 15 league matches overall, those coming in the form of losses at the hands of Real Salt Lake and Sporting Kansas, both of which were away from home.

Nine wins within these 15 games will therefore be encouraging for Schmetzer's side as they look to further cement their position in the Finals Series pack in the Western Conference table, while Seattle have also won their last five home games on the trot as well.

Los Angeles have managed to pick up just one point from their last two games in the MLS after being handed a heavy 5-1 thrashing on home turf to Columbus Crew and then being held to a 1-1 draw at home against Real Salt Lake, so needless to say Steve Cherundolo's side will be keen to return to winning ways here.

The visitors had previously put together an extremely impressive 10-game unbeaten sequence in the MLS which consisted of nine wins and a draw; four of these nine wins were also collected on their travels with wins picked up at St Louis City, Atlanta United, Orlando City and local rivals, LA Galaxy, in their recent local derby.

Results away from home though have been a bit of a mixed bag as Los Angeles had struggled previously on the road as they suffered a dismal six-match winless run on their travels which included five defeats but they have since put together a five-game unbeaten run which consists of four wins!
