Here is our LA Galaxy v St Louis City tip and game preview. Based on our detailed analysis of statistics listed below and other factors, we predicted both teams to score in this game, under 2.5 goals, and a draw. Our confidence in this tip was high relative to other tips.
Sunday evening brings us an all-Western Conference clash between second from bottom placed club, LA Galaxy, and the Conference leaders, St Louis City, when the two teams face off at the Dignity Health Sports Park with both sides needing all three points at the respective ends of the table.
It was a rough start to LA Galaxy's MLS campaign as the hosts registered just two wins from their opening 15 games of the new season which were a 2-0 win against Austin and a 2-1 victory over San Jose Earthquakes, both of which were also recorded on home soil at their Dignity Health Sports Park.
Having also been dealt out 10 defeats within this period as well, LA Galaxy's hopes of achieving even a top nine finish in the Western Conference table looked highly unlikely but the hosts have staged a remarkable comeback in recent times which has helped Greg Vanney's side to within just five points of ninth placed FC Dallas prior to this weekend's action.
LA Galaxy have lost just once in their last 11 matches overall in the MLS and picking up five wins while the draw has also featured on a regular basis as LA Galaxy have been involved in no fewer than five stalemates as well within this 11-match sequence.
St Louis City already look to have booked their place in the Finals Series as the visitors sit top of the Western Conference with a six-point cushion over second placed Seattle Sounders prior to this upcoming trip to the Dignity Health Sports Park.
However, recent results have not all gone St Louis' way as the visitors have lost three of their last six matches having stumbled to defeats against the likes of Los Angeles, Orlando City and Sporting Kansas while wins against Inter Miami, Austin and Dallas have more or less evened things out for Bradley Carnell's side.
Interestingly, each of St Louis City's recent three wins were recorded on home soil at their CITYPARK ground but the three defeats were all inflicted upon the visitors on their travels where St Louis have managed to pick up just two wins from their last 10 outings on the road.
Despite starting this new MLS season with three away wins on the trot at Austin, Portland Timbers and Real Salt Lake, the visitors have well and truly spiralled out of control following seven defeats within the last 10 away games, which suggests that St Louis City are by no means guaranteed all three points against LA Galaxy on Sunday evening.
LA Galaxy v St Louis City Verdict
The previous meeting between LA Galaxy and St Louis City ended in a 1-1 draw and another low-scoring encounter could unfold here at the Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday.
Therefore, our main bet will be Under 2.5 goals @ 2.70
Other side bets worth considering:
Draw @ 3.80
Correct score: 1-1 @ 8.00
