Both Denmark and Switzerland managed to hold their own in their respective UEFA Nations League campaigns last time out in League A as Denmark finished runners-up behind Group 1 winners, Croatia, while Switzerland finished in third place in Group 2 narrowly behind the winners Spain and runners-up, Portugal, but both nations will be eager to avoid a third place finish this time around and being involved in a relegation/promotion play-off in this campaign's revised format.

Previously, Denmark had finished runners-up behind England in Group C of the recent Euro 2024 finals thanks to picking up three points by way of stalemates with Slovenia, England and Serbia in 1-1, 1-1 and 0-0 draws respectively but nevertheless these saw the Danes through to the knockout stages.
