Belarus will hold 'home' advantage at the ZTE-Aréna in Hungary for Thursday night's opening fixture in Group 3 against Bulgaria in the UEFA Nations League but this may count for very little as the hosts have been handed three defeats in their last four games overall, while Bulgaria gained a 1-1 draw away from home at Slovenia in an international friendly in early June which in turn extended the visitors' unbeaten run in all competitions to six games overall.

Belarus were somewhat fortunate to not suffer relegation from League C down to League D as they finished bottom of Group 3 at the end of the previous campaign but the previous format only saw the bottom two placed teams in the four groups in League C relegated - in this new campaign though, all four of the bottom nations will be automatically relegated.

Bulgaria bring a solid if rather stubborn looking six-match unbeaten sequence into this upcoming clash in Hungary at the ZTE-Aréna as the visitors have picked up one win and been involved in no fewer than five stalemates within their last six unbeaten games, their singular victory coming in the shape of a 1-0 win away from home at Tanzania in an international friendly.

However, despite this recent unbeaten run in all competitions, the fact remains that Bulgaria have managed to capture just one win in their previous 15 internationals overall whilst being dealt six defeats and involved in no fewer than eight stalemates within this 15-game period.

Interestingly, six out of their eight stalemates have also resulted in both teams scoring and this trend may well follow at the ZTE-Aréna as both Belarus and Bulgaria look to get their respective UEFA Nations League campaigns off to a positive start on neutral ground.

In addition, six of Bulgaria's last 10 outings on the road in all competitions have also resulted in draws, four of which have also seen both teams hitting the back of the net as well.
