Sevilla dropped down to 12th place in the La Liga table following a 3-2 defeat away from home at Villarreal on the weekend which halted a previously encouraging five-match unbeaten sequence for the hosts, while Cadiz still remain sitting third from bottom in the standings and in the relegation zone despite handing themselves what could prove to be a crucial lifeline in their bid to avoid the drop with a 1-0 home win against Getafe.

Sevilla had previously strung together four wins within their preceding five league matches in the domestic top flight which saw Quique Sanchez Flores' side capture important wins against Getafe, Las Palmas, Mallorca and Granada along with a point earned in a draw with Real Betis, so the hosts know they are capable of bouncing back with a win here on Wednesday night.

Flores' side now have nothing left to play for this season as they find themselves 14 points behind the top six pack and 12 points above the bottom three clubs but nevertheless the hosts have produced some encouraging results in La Liga since the end of January as they have been dealt just three defeats in their 14 games during this period whilst also picking up seven wins as well.

Cadiz registered a welcome and desperately needed 1-0 home win against Getafe on the weekend in the domestic top flight but the visitors still find themselves five points adrift of fourth from bottom outfit Celta Vigo and safety ahead of this upcoming trip to the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Wednesday night.

It's been a tough and miserable campaign for Cadiz this season as Mauricio Pellegrino's side have managed to record just three wins from their last 31 league matches overall which have all been achieved on home soil at their Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla with victories against Atletico Madrid, Granada and Getafe respectively.

However, the visitors have also been handed 15 defeats within this period as well, while results away from home have been particularly poor as Cadiz are one of only two clubs who have failed to pick up an away win so far this season along with Granada and this has resulted in Cadiz fighting for their Spanish top flight lives.

Six draws but 11 defeats on the road this term suggest this upcoming trip to face Sevilla could also end in further disappointment for Mauricio Pellegrino's side especially as they have lost their last three away games on the trot.
