Next up is a relegation ‘six-pointer' towards the bottom of the Spanish top flight table as second from bottom club Las Palmas take on third from bottom visitors Alaves at the Estadio de Gran Canaria on Friday night with a precious three points at stake for both sides.

Las Palmas have failed to win any of their last nine games overall in La Liga which consists of being involved in two draws but also handed no fewer than seven defeats within this period as well, leaving Friday night's hosts three points adrift of safety.

Alaves ended a previously barren six-match winless sequence in La Liga last weekend as they registered a welcome 1-0 home win against high-flying Villarreal which will no doubt give Eduardo Coudet's side a welcome boost ahead of this upcoming trip to the Estadio de Gran Canaria.

Within Las Palmas' recent seven defeats, three of these have been inflicted upon Diego Martínez's side on home soil at their Estadio de Gran Canaria following losses at the hands of Getafe, Villarreal and Barcelona respectively.

Wins in La Liga have been in short shrift though for Las Palmas as the upcoming hosts have managed to pick up just six wins from their previous 41 games overall, only three of which have been achieved in front of their home fans, but the goals market appeals here as six out of Las Palmas' last 10 home games have also resulted in both teams scoring.

Alaves will have been relieved to have finally ended a previously worrying six-game winless period in La Liga last weekend with the aforementioned 1-0 home win against Villarreal but despite that victory, the visitors still find themselves in amongst the bottom three clubs in the division.

The visitors had previously been dealt defeats by the likes of Barcelona, Getafe and Espanyol respectively, while the bigger picture shows Alaves have managed to capture just three wins from their last 21 matches overall in the division.

Wins claimed at the expense of Mallorca, Real Betis and Villarreal have nevertheless been overshadowed by slipping to 11 defeats within these previous 21 games, thus making this upcoming trip to Las Palmas a far from easy assignment.

Having also managed to muster just one win from their last 12 outings on the road along with stumbling to seven defeats as well, Alaves may just be happy to walk away from the Estadio de Gran Canaria with a point, while six out of their last 10 away games in La Liga have also resulted in both teams scoring.
