Girona claimed a point by way of an entertaining 2-2 draw away from home at Alaves in La Liga on the weekend and having previously recorded three league wins on the trot beforehand, Girona have now confirmed a top four finish and a place in next season's Champions League, while Villarreal bounced back from defeat last time out in the Spanish top flight with a 3-2 home win against Sevilla.
