Both Getafe and Athletic Bilbao will be keen to grab all three points here at the Estadio Coliseum on Friday night in order to boost their ailing ambitions of claiming a possible European spot for next season; Getafe registered a 3-1 win away from home at Almeria in last weekend's action while Athletic Bilbao slipped to a disappointing and heavy 3-1 loss away from home at Atletico Madrid which extended the visitors' winless run in La Liga to four games overall.

Despite picking up that impressive 3-1 win away at Almeria though, Getafe have managed to capture just two wins out of their last nine matches overall which included a previous 1-0 home win against Girona but also includes being handed three defeats as well within this period.

Results on home soil though have produced a mixed bag of returns for Getafe who have won just three of their previous eight home games while five of their last 10 games overall have resulted in both teams scoring.

Athletic Bilbao occupy fifth place in the La Liga standings but they too will need all three points here if they are to start making in-roads into producing a serious challenge for a possible top four finish as the visitors trail fourth placed Atletico Madrid by a six-point margin ahead of this week's action.

However, this may be easier said than done as Athletic Bilbao have failed to win any of their last four games in La Liga, slipping to losses at the hands of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid (both away from home) and being held to draws by Villarreal and Granada on home soil at their San Mamés Barria, while the bigger picture shows the visitors have managed to collect just four wins out of their last 13 games overall.

Three of these four wins were recorded on home soil with victories gained over Mallorca, Girona and Alaves respectively, but within this period Ernesto Valverde's side have also been dealt four defeats as well which have been inflicted upon them by the likes of Valencia, Real Betis, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid - all of them being on their travels.

Both teams have scored though in five of Athletic Bilbao's last 10 games so the goals market may be the best option for this clash.
