Alaves vs Sevilla Preview

Alaves were unable to make it three league wins on the trot in the Spanish La Liga last weekend when they were dealt a 3-2 loss away from home at Espanyol but the hosts return to their Estadio de Mendizorroza for this Friday night's clash against a Sevilla outfit who claimed all three points last time out in the domestic top flight courtesy of a 1-0 home win against Getafe.

Friday night's hosts have produced a mixed start to their La Liga campaign as Luis Garcia's side have registered two wins, a draw but have also slipped to two losses as well within their opening five games of the new term.

Sevilla had previously struggled in the early weeks of the new Spanish top flight campaign as the visitors could only muster points in draws with Las Palmas and Mallorca while being dealt losses by the likes of Villarreal and Girona, both of which were on home soil at their Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

The broader picture shows Sevilla have also managed to capture just this single win in their last nine matches in the Spanish top flight along with being dealt no fewer than six defeats within this miserable period of results, so it may be best to avoid being involved in the straight win markets for this upcoming fixture.

Goals may be in short supply though as five out of Sevilla's last nine games have resulted in Under 2.5 goals, while seven of Sevilla's last 10 away games in La Liga have also produced two goals or less (70%).
