Almeria slipped to yet another defeat in the Spanish top flight on the weekend when the bottom placed club were dealt a 3-2 away from home at Real Betis which became the hosts' 22nd loss of the season, while Barcelona bounced back from a previous defeat in La Liga with a solid 2-0 home win against Real Sociedad on the weekend which has maintained the visitors' second place position in the table.

Almeria have managed to gain only two wins throughout this season's La Liga campaign which were managed by wins against Las Palmas and Rayo Vallecano respectively and interestingly both of these victories were collected on their travels, while results on home soil have quite simply been a disaster.

Eight draws but also nine defeats on home soil at their Power Horse Stadium underline the monumental difficulties that Pepe Mel and his side have had to endure in their own backyard in what has been a season to forget.
