Here is our Rangers v Livingston tip and game preview. Based on our detailed analysis of statistics listed below and other factors, we predicted both teams to not score in this game, under 2.5 goals, and a Rangers home win. Our confidence in this tip was moderate relative to other tips.
Rangers were handed a surprise and shock 1-0 defeat away from home at the hands of Kilmarnock on the opening weekend of this new Scottish Premiership season but the hosts return to Ibrox for Saturday's clash against Livingston looking to set the record straight.
That defeat away at Kilmarnock became only the third loss in a total of 26 matches for Rangers, the other two defeats being against Celtic and Aberdeen, while all three losses were incurred away from home in the Scottish top flight.
On the flip-side, Rangers have amassed a total of 20 victories during this period as well and The ‘gers know that they have a golden opportunity to return to winning ways this Saturday at Ibrox as Rangers hold a commanding record against Livingston in previous exchanges.
Rangers have won nine out of the last 10 meetings against Livingston and last week's defeat should only serve to motivate Michael Beale's men even more as they look to get themselves off the mark this Saturday.
Incidentally, seven of Rangers' nine wins against Livingston have also seen the hosts keep a clean sheet as well.
Onto Livingston, and the visitors grabbed a point in their Scottish Premiership season opener with Aberdeen by way of a 0-0 stalemate at the Tony Macaroni Arena, affectionately named ‘The Spaghettihad' by the locals.
However, whilst Livingston didn't suffer a loss in that opening game, the visitors have now managed to register only one win out of their last seven matches overall in the Scottish top flight, a poor run of results that also include four defeats within this period as well.
Defeats to Dundee United, Ross County, Kilmarnock and St Johnstone were all actually inflicted upon Livingston away from home and each of these four losses were also by 2-0 margins, meaning Livingston have now failed to score in five of these last seven matches overall.
This statistic certainly doesn't make for good reading if you're a Livingston fan and does not bode well for this upcoming trip to Ibrox which was recently the scene of a 2-1 win in Europe for Rangers when they played Swiss club, Servette, in their midweek Champions League clash.
To make matters worse, Livingston have lost their last eight matches on the road on the trot and the visitors have failed to hit the back of the net in each of these away games as well.
Rangers v Livingston Verdict
Rangers possess an overwhelming record over Livingston in previous exchanges and the hosts should run out comfortable winners against David Martindale's side this Saturday, especially considering Livingston's poor results away from home in the domestic top flight, which has seen the visitors fail to score in the last eight away games.
Therefore, our main bet will be Rangers win & Both Teams To Score NO @ 2.20
Other side bets worth considering:
Rangers win & Under 3.5 goals @ 2.25
Correct score: Rangers 2-0 @ 7.00
