Rangers have just two matches remaining of this season's Premiership campaign if they are to overhaul their Old Firm rivals Celtic into the top spot of the Championship group and secure a place in next season's Champions League - and hope that Celtic lose their remaining two games on the trot as well.

Rangers' task was made that much tougher when they slipped to a 2-1 loss to Celtic in their previous game as another Old Firm clash went the way of The Hoops and having managed to pick up just three wins out of their last eight games overall in the Scottish top flight, Rangers will need to fully focus on this upcoming clash against Dundee.

Victories against the likes of Hibernian, St Mirren and Kilmarnock have been off set by losses incurred against Motherwell, Ross County and the aforementioned defeat at the hands of Celtic with the latter perhaps being the most pivotal in the race for top spot of the Championship group.

There is a glimmer of hope though for Philippe Clement's side though as ‘Gers have suffered just the single defeat out of their last 14 home games at Ibrox which was a 2-1 loss to Motherwell but the hosts have also picked up no fewer than 12 wins within this impressive period, five of which also produced clean sheets.

Dundee sit bottom of the Championship group after the regular season split in the Scottish Premiership having lost all three of their games in the second phase of the campaign after losses to Celtic, St Mirren and Hearts respectively.

Overall, it's been an encouraging and solid campaign for Dundee upon their return to this season's Scottish top flight as Tony Docherty's side achieved a top six finish in the Premiership table at the end of the regular season but the visitors will no doubt be keen to get one over the likes of Rangers here on Tuesday night at Ibrox.

However, this may be easier said than done as The Dee have failed to win any of their last six games overall in the domestic top flight which includes an earlier 3-2 loss at home to Motherwell, while the bigger picture shows Dundee have managed to capture just four wins out of their previous 16 matches overall, three of which were achieved on home soil at their Dens Park ground.

Results (and wins) away from home continue to be a struggle for Docherty's men as Dundee have collected just four wins from their last 24 outings on the road so it looks like the visitors will have their work cut out at Ibrox on Tuesday night.
