Hearts will head into this Edinburgh derby against local rivals Hibernian at Tynecastle Park on Boxing Day with renewed confidence having picked up two wins from their last three games overall in the Scottish Premiership which have helped The Jambos move up into 10th place in the domestic top flight table.

Hibernian find themselves just two league places and a mere two points above their upcoming local derby hosts but nevertheless, the visitors have picked up three wins from their last four games in the Scottish top flight so they too will be feeling upbeat about their chances here at the Tynecastle Stadium.

After having had to endure a fruitless and rather barren looking nine-match winless run in the Scottish Premiership which consisted of four draws along with being handed five defeats in the process as well, Hibernian have also returned to winning ways in recent times in the domestic top flight, picking up three wins in their last four games.

Recent victories gained over Motherwell, Ross County and Aberdeen respectively have also helped Hibs move further away from trouble down near the foot of the Premiership table and David Gray's side will be hoping they can continue this winning momentum at Tynecastle Stadium on Boxing Day.

Results away from home though have been pretty disappointing for Hibernian who have managed to capture just two wins from their previous 11 outings on the road along with being dealt six defeats along the way as well, so the prospects of an away win here on Boxing Day do not look particularly promising.

Hibernian's recent flurry of wins though should help the visitors at least find the back of the net here in what could be an entertaining encounter at Tynecastle Stadium.
