Dundee's winless run in the Scottish Premiership was extended to three games after sharing the points in a 2-2 draw at home with Kilmarnock last time out which was an improvement upon previous back-to-back defeats in the Scottish top flight, while Aberdeen will head into this upcoming clash at Dens Park on the back of a triumphant 3-1 home win against Kilmarnock in the Scottish FA Cup on the weekend.

Dundee had previously been handed losses by the likes of Hibernian 2-1 and a crushing 7-1 humiliation at the hands of Celtic, both of which were away from home so needless to say, Tony Docherty's side will be looking to return to winning ways in their own backyard against a struggling Aberdeen outfit on Wednesday night.

In addition, Dundee are still only a point behind sixth placed Hibernian and a possible place in the Championship Round pack prior to this midweek encounter with Aberdeen so we should expect the hosts to be fully focused for this fixture.

Interim manager, Neil Warnock, stepped down from his role at the club following their cup win on Saturday so the visitors will be heading into this clash at Dens Park still without a permanent manager in charge and having lost five of these 10 games, Aberdeen look to have their work cut out here on Wednesday night.

To make matters worse, the bigger picture shows Aberdeen have managed to capture just three wins from their previous 18 league matches in the Premiership, two of which were achieved on home soil at Pittodrie with wins against Hearts and Livingston.

However, the visitors have managed to register just one win from their last eight outings on the road which includes no fewer than six defeats as well, so this looks like being another tough trip for The Dons in midweek.
