Celtic will head into this season opener in the Scottish Premiership against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park no doubt looking to defend last season's domestic top flight title having finished top of the Championship Group by an eight-point margin over their Old Firm rivals, Rangers, at the conclusion of the 2nd phase of the season, while Kilmarnock claimed the last of the European spots in the Championship Group as the visitors achieved a creditable fourth place finish.

Interestingly, four of Kilmarnock's opening six games of this new season (the bulk of which have been pre-season friendlies) have resulted in only one team scoring and this looks an appealing option for this upcoming fixture at Celtic Park especially as Kilmarnock have recorded just two wins in their last nine outings on the road in the Scottish top flight.
