Hamilton picked up an important three points last time out in the Scottish Championship when the hosts recorded a 3-2 home win against Airdrieonians to maintain their place just above the relegation zone in the Championship table.

Partick Thistle slipped to a second defeat on the trot in the Scottish second tier over last weekend when the visitors were handed a heavy 4-1 defeat at home to Dunfermline Athletic, but The Jags still occupy fourth place in the Championship table.

The visitors have now lost three out of their last five games overall which includes an earlier 2-0 defeat away from home at Livingston but Partick Thistle also collected recent wins against Airdrieonians and Queen's Park.

Prior to these three recent losses, Partick Thistle had put together a solid and impressive looking eight-match unbeaten sequence which consisted of five wins along the way, so Partick Thistle may be feeling upbeat about their chances of picking up a result here on Friday night at the New Douglas Park.

However, despite their lofty fourth position in the Scottish Championship table, Partick Thistle's poor results on the road have no doubt been The Jag's achilles heel for some time now in the domestic second tier as the visitors have managed to register just four wins from their last 19 outings on the road.

In addition, Thistle have also succumbed to eight defeats within this 19-game period away from home as well and so therefore their prospects of picking up all three points here on Friday night look to be on shaky ground.
