Portimonense were held to a drab 0-0 draw at home by Vizela in last Sunday's Portuguese top flight fixture which extended the hosts' winless run in the Primeira Liga to five games overall which includes three defeats, while third placed Porto registered a comprehensive and impressive 5-0 thrashing of second placed Benfica last weekend as the visitors look to continue to erode the points deficit between themselves and the Champions League spots.

Recent defeats to Arouca, Estrela and Benfica in 2-1, 3-0 and 4-0 losses respectively have prevented Portimonense from lifting themselves further away from the relegation zone in the Primeira Liga table as the visitors sit only one point above third from bottom outfit Estrela who occupy the relegation play-off spot.

Porto will no doubt be eager to register a second win on the trot in quick succession in the Portuguese top flight on Friday night when they make the trip to the Estádio Municipal de Portimão to take on lowly Portimonense and confidence is likely to be sky high amongst the Porto camp following their resounding 5-0 victory over Benfica last weekend.

Results overall continue to be encouraging for Porto as the visitors have been dealt just the single defeat within their last 10 matches overall in the domestic top flight which came in the form of a surprising 3-2 loss away from home at Arouca but nevertheless, Sergio Conceicao's side have also collected six wins within this period as well, which should place the visitors in a favourable position ahead of this upcoming clash at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão.

Interestingly, five of Porto's six wins in this recent sequence have also seen the visitors keep clean sheets and they will be wanting more of the same when they face lowly Portimonense on Friday night as they seek out another three points.
