Sarpsborg made it two wins on the trot in the Norwegian top flight in last weekend's action as they registered a resounding and comprehensive 4-1 victory over Rosenborg at home, while Brann's winless run in the Eliteserien was extended to three games after being held to a 1-1 draw at home by Haugesund which prevented Brann from closing the gap on the current league leaders, Bodo/Glimt.

Recent back-to-back wins against Haugesund 2-1 away from home and the aforementioned 4-1 romp over Rosenborg have helped lift Sarpsborg up into 12th place in the Eliteserien standings and more importantly, two points above third from bottom Tromso and the relegation play-off spot.

However, league wins overall this season so far have been hard to come by for Christian Michelsen's side as they have managed to capture just five wins within their total of 14 league matches played to date this term, while the bigger picture looks even worse for the hosts.

Indeed, Sarpsborg have picked up just these five wins out of their last 17 matches overall in the Norwegian top flight, slipping to 11 defeats in the process which may make it tough against high-flying Brann on Saturday evening.

The bigger picture though will still give Eirik Horneland's side plenty of confidence and belief that they can return to winning ways here at the Sarpsborg Stadion on Saturday evening as the away side have been dealt just two defeats in their last 14 matches overall in the Eliteserien.

Results away from home have been similarly steady and solid as Brann have lost just twice in their last 14 outings on the road whilst collecting eight wins in the process and this sort of form suggests Brann stand a pretty decent chance of claiming all three points at the Sarpsborg Stadion on Saturday evening.
