Genoa were dealt a heavy 3-1 loss away from home at Roma in last Friday night's Serie A tussle but the hosts will return to the home surroundings of their Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris for this upcoming clash against bottom of the table outfit, Monza, and the hosts will be keen to rekindle their previous form.

Monza also slipped to a 3-1 defeat in last weekend's Serie A action as they were handed a 3-1 defeat away from home at Bologna as Monza were unable to build upon a previous 2-1 home win against high-flying Fiorentina, but that loss last time out also became a sixth defeat in seven games overall.

However, this may be easier said than done though as Monza have also stumbled to nine defeats within these previous 13 games which suggests another tough night at the office could be in store for the visitors on Monday night.

Salvatore Bocchetti's side have managed to pick up just two wins from a total of 21 games played so far in this season's wretched Serie A campaign as perhaps the notorious ‘second season syndrome' has kicked in this term with the visitors now fighting a bitter relegation battle.

The bigger picture also looks extremely ominous for Monza's chances of pulling off an upset here at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris as the visitors have managed to capture just these two wins from their previous 30 games overall in the domestic top flight.

Genoa will be keen to gain revenge against their visitors having suffered a 3-2 loss at home to Monza in their previous clash at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris back in March of last year.
