Fiorentina gained a point in a 0-0 draw away from home at Empoli in last weekend's Serie A action which in turn became their fourth stalemate from their opening six games, while AC Milan made it three league wins on the trot last Friday night when they registered a comprehensive 3-0 home win against Lecce.

Fiorentina have picked up just the single win to date so far in this new Italian top flight season which came in the form of a 2-1 home win against Lazio but the hosts have also only suffered the one defeat to date as well, that being a 3-2 loss on the road at Atalanta.

Sunday evening's hosts' campaign so far though has been littered with draws as Viola have been involved in no fewer than four stalemates to date which has seen Raffaele Palladino's side pick up points against the likes of Parma, Venezia, Monza and Empoli respectively.

However, although the visitors have come good in recent weeks in Serie A, the wider picture shows AC Milan have managed to capture just four wins from their last 13 league matches overall.

A previous 5-1 thrashing of Cagliari in the latter stages of last season's campaign was AC Milan's other victory during this period but Paolo Fonseca's side have also slipped to three defeats at the hands of Inter Milan, Torino and Parma, along with being involved in no fewer than six draws as well.

Three of these six stalemates have been recorded on their travels with points shared with Sassuolo, Juventus and Lazio and another stalemate could unfold here at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday night, especially as AC Milan have drawn three out of their last six outings on the road in Serie A.
