Cagliari were involved in a second draw on the trot in the Italian top flight last weekend when the hosts drew 2-2 away from home at Genoa which has seen Cagliari remain in 16th place in the Serie A table.

Verona occupy 14th place in the domestic top flight table but the visitors slipped to a second defeat on the trot last weekend when they were handed a heavy 5-0 thrashing at home by Inter Milan.

Verona slumped to a fifth defeat in six matches overall last weekend after enduring a 5-0 humiliation at home to Inter Milan and although Paolo Zanetti's side recorded a 3-2 home win against Roma earlier this month, the visitors have also been dealt disappointing defeats at the hands of Monza 3-0, Atalanta 6-1, Lecce 1-0 and Fiorentina 3-1 respectively as well.

The visitors have fared slightly better than their upcoming hosts ahead of Friday night's clash at Unipol Domus as Verona have picked up four wins so far in this season's Serie A campaign but only one of these four victories have been achieved away from home.

Verona's singular success on their travels so far this term came in the form of a 2-0 win away from home at Genoa but having also slipped to five defeats on the trot on the road in recent times, prospects of all three points for the visitors here on Friday night also look highly unlikely.
