We head up towards the top of the Serie A table next with our next preview which features this top five clash between fifth placed Atalanta and fourth placed Bologna in what promises to be a cracker of a game with just two points separating the two sides, with Atalanta looking to bounce back from their recent heavy 4-0 defeat away from home at Inter Milan, while Bologna collected a fifth league win on the trot thanks to last week's solid 2-0 home win against Verona. Prior to last week's slip-up on the road in Milan, Atalanta had put together a promising looking eight-match unbeaten run in the Italian top flight which consisted of six wins and two draws which had helped lift Gian Gasperini's side up into fifth place and in contention for a possible top four finish and a Champions League spot for next season.

Interestingly, and best of all for Atalanta, five out of the aforementioned six wins were registered on home soil at their Gewiss Stadium as Atalanta picked up important victories over the likes of Lecce, Frosinone, Udinese, Lazio and Sassuolo respectively which will give the hosts plenty of confidence and belief that they can not only get the better of Bologna here this Sunday but also perhaps leapfrog their visitors into fourth spot as well.

Bologna currently occupy the last of the highly coveted Champions League spots in the Serie A table as the visitors sit in fourth place prior to this weekend's Italian top flight action thanks to winning their last five league games on the trot which includes wins against Sassuolo, Lecce, Fiorentina, Lazio and Verona respectively but it should be noted that four of these five wins were achieved on home soil at their Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

Nevertheless, Bologna have enjoyed a solid and successful campaign to date so far in this Serie season which is underlined by the fact that the visitors have been handed just four defeats throughout the whole of this term which has contributed to their lofty position in the Serie A table.

Three of these four defeats have been dealt out to Bologna on their travels though where the visitors have managed to collect just two wins from their 12 away games to date this term which could well see Thiago Motta's side having their work cut out against an Atalanta side who'll be keen to return to winning ways.
