An unexpected but nevertheless demoralising 2-1 defeat away from home at rock-bottom outfit, UCD, last time out in the Irish Premier Division, handed Sligo Rovers a third defeat in their last four games in the domestic top flight which has left the hosts sitting just one league position and two points above Cork City and the relegation play-off spot ahead of Friday night's action.

Previous defeats to Friday night's upcoming opponents, Bohemians (2-0 away from home) along with a heavy 3-0 loss at home to Shamrock Rovers have seen Sligo Rovers pick up just one point from the last 12 on offer, thanks to a 1-1 draw away at Shelbourne.
