Despite picking up a point in last Friday night's Irish Premier Division game away from home at Drogheda United in a 2-2 draw, that result only extended Bohemians' winless run in the domestic top flight to eight games overall, while Waterford slipped to a third league defeat on the trot last Friday when they were dealt a disappointing 2-1 loss at home to Shamrock Rovers.

As a result of having failed to win any of their last eight league matches overall, Bohemians now find themselves perched precariously just above Dundalk and the relegation play-off spot although Friday night's hosts do possess a useful five-point cushion ahead of this weekend's fixtures.

Five points picked up in stalemates with the likes of St Patrick's Athletic home and away, Galway United, Dundalk and Drogheda United have at least enabled Bohemians to keep their heads above water but the hosts will be keen to improve upon the bigger picture which has seen Alan Reynolds's side pick up just the single win from their previous 13 games overall.

In addition, Bohemians have now failed to win any of their last six home games at their Dalymount Park in the Irish Premier Division, so they are long overdue a win here.

Waterford's ambitions of claiming a possible top three finish in this season's Irish Premier Division campaign have taken something of a dent in recent weeks as the visitors have now dropped down to fourth place after being handed three league defeats on the trot.

Losses at the hands of Galway United, Drogheda United and Shamrock Rovers mean Keith Long's side have been unable to break into the top three places in the Premier Division table but nevertheless, the visitors are still level on points with Shamrock Rovers prior to this Friday night clash at Dalymount Park.

However, having lost four out of their last five games on the road which consist of being dealt defeats away at the likes of Shelbourne, Derry City, Galway United and Drogheda United respectively, the visitors may well have their work cut out if they are to gain a result here on Friday night, especially as they have won just four of their last 12 outings on the road.
