Lyon's solid run of form and results in the French Ligue 1 continued last weekend with an impressive 3-1 win away from home at Nantes and although the hosts still remain sitting in a mid-table position of 10th place in the table, Pierre Sage's men are now just five points adrift of a possible top six finish this season.

Lyon had started this Ligue 1 campaign in disastrous fashion though as the hosts had failed to win any of their opening 10 matches of the new term which included six defeats while the bigger picture saw Lyon gaining just one win from their opening 14 games which had resulted in Lyon sitting in the early relegation places.

However, Pierre Sage's side have turned things around in impressive fashion as Lyon have been handed just three further losses in their subsequent 14 games since that horrific start and the hosts now have the added incentive of chasing down a possible spot in Europe.

Form on home soil has also looked up in recent times as Lyon have suffered just two defeats in their last seven games at their Groupama Stadium and they have picked up four wins during this period which includes victories over Toulouse, Nantes, Marseille and Nice.

Brest are highly unlikely to catch the runaway league leaders PSG in this season's Ligue 1 campaign but nevertheless the visitors have enjoyed a breakout season as they currently occupy second place and hold a four-point cushion between themselves and fourth placed Lille ahead of this weekend's Ligue 1 action.

Although Brest were handed three defeats on the trot in the French top flight from towards the end of October through to early November with losses incurred against Lille, PSG and Monaco respectively, the visitors have since turned their season around in dramatic fashion which could earn them a financially lucrative spot in next season's Champions League.

Having been dealt just the single defeat in their last 17 matches overall in Ligue 1 which includes picking up 11 wins as well, the visitors look set to stand a decent chance of getting something from this upcoming clash at the Groupama Stadium especially as Eric Roy's side have lost just once in their last eight outings on the road.

The bigger picture shows Brest have lost just twice in their previous 20 games overall in the domestic top flight and they'll be a tough unit to break down here on Sunday night.
