Hoffenheim claimed a rare win in the German top flight last weekend when they registered a 3-1 win away from home at Holstein Kiel so the upcoming hosts will be keen to make it two wins on the trot on Thursday night when they play host to Premier League side, Tottenham, but although Hoffenheim hold home advantage at their PreZero Arena, this will not be an easy assignment for the hosts.

Postecoglou and Tottenham's saving grace is the fact that they are still in the domestic cup competitions, FA Cup and League Cup, along with sitting just outside the qualifying spots for the last 16 of the Europa League, so a win in Germany on Thursday night would at least but them some valuable breathing space.

The wider picture shows Tottenham have managed just two wins from their last eight matches overall in all competitions whilst slipping to five defeats in the process, so the visitors really need a result at the PreZero Arena on Thursday night in order to boost morale.

However, results on the Europa League front have at least produced encouragement as Tottenham have suffered just one defeat in six matches along with picking up three wins.
