Premier League, played Saturday, October 21st, 2023
Here is our Sheff Utd v Man Utd tip and game preview. Based on our detailed analysis of statistics listed below and other factors, we predicted both teams to not score in this game, under 2.5 goals, and a Man Utd away win. Our confidence in this tip was high relative to other tips.
Sheffield United play host to Manchester United at Bramall Lane in Saturday night's fixture up in Yorkshire with the hosts desperately looking for a change in fortunes after losing seven out of their opening eight league matches, while Manchester United currently occupy a disappointing mid-table position in the Premier League standings.
It has not been the sort of start to this new Premier League season that Sheffield United manager, Paul Heckingbottom, would have envisaged upon their return to the domestic top flight as The Blades sit bottom of the Premier League table with just one point under their belts so far this season from their eight matches played.
That solitary point was courtesy of a 2-2 draw at home with Everton but Sheffield United have also been handed no fewer than seven defeats in the early stages of this new season which will have made an instant but negative impact upon morale amongst the squad.
Another tough fixture therefore beckons on Saturday night when Manchester United visit Bramall Lane and The Blades' cause hasn't been helped by losing three of their four home games to date, slipping to losses against Crystal Palace, Manchester City and Newcastle United, the latter being a 8-0 humiliation.
Manchester United have also experienced something of a disappointing start to their Premier League campaign as the Red Devils occupy 10th place in the table having produced a mixed bag of results in the domestic top flight so far this term.
Four wins and four defeats have underlined Manchester United's inconsistent streak yet again so far in this new campaign but it's interesting to note that three of United's four wins to date have been achieved on home soil at Old Trafford but only one away win so far which was attained in a 1-0 win away at Burnley.
Manchester United have lost two of their three away games so far this term which has seen Erik ten Hag's side slip up at north London clubs, Tottenham and Arsenal, who sit first and second place respectively in the Premier League table, but the visitors did at least record that win at Burnley.
In addition, United also registered a welcome 2-1 home win against Brentford just before the international break which ten Hag will be hoping it serves as a boost for his side prior to this upcoming trip to Bramall Lane.
Sheffield United v Manchester United Verdict
Sheffield United already look to have a mountain to climb if they're to avoid the drop this season even at this early stage as the alarm bells have started to ring following that 8-0 thrashing at the hands of Newcastle United, while Manchester United have won seven of the last 10 meetings against their hosts, five of which also saw the visitors keep a clean sheet.
Therefore, our main bet will be Both Teams To Score No @ 2.00
Other side bets worth considering:
Man Utd win & Both Teams To Score No 2.50
Correct score: Man Utd 2-0 @ 8.50
