Newcastle United headed into the recent international break on the back of a disappointing 2-0 defeat away from home at Bournemouth, making it a miserable return to the south coast for former manager, Eddie Howe, but his side return to St James' Park for this upcoming clash against Chelsea looking to return to winning ways, while simply anything could be expected from Chelsea!

Prior to that loss to Bournemouth, Newcastle United had been enjoying a sustained and impressive sequence of results in the Premier League that had helped The Magpies to within touching distance of the top five pack which consisted of five wins and two draws.

Wins against Fulham, Burnley and London rivals, Tottenham, all of which were away from home, will serve as a welcome boost for Mauricio Pochettino's side as they prepare for this trip up to the north-east to take on a similarly in-form Newcastle United outfit, and having won their last three away games on the trot, you'd have to fancy Chelsea to be on target at least once on Saturday.

Goals certainly look set to feature as three of Chelsea's five away games to date this term have resulted in both teams scoring and we could have another exciting and pulsating encounter on our hands at St James' Park on Saturday as well.

Newcastle United have been in solid and impressive form of late, the defeat against The Cherries aside, and Eddie Howe's side are expected to be on the front foot again on Saturday with home advantage under their belts.

Despite the recent bad press, Chelsea and Pochettino have produced some encouraging results in the past few weeks and The Blues are just starting to become a threat once again in the top flight as Tottenham found out a few games ago.
