Liverpool had to make do with just a single point in last weekend's disappointing 2-2 draw away from home at the London Stadium against West Ham which left Jurgen Klopp's side five points adrift of the current Premier League leaders Arsenal, so if The Reds are to remain in the race for the title then this upcoming clash against Tottenham is a ‘must win' game.

Liverpool's title bid has taken a few dents in recent weeks as the merseyside have managed to pick up just the one win in their last five matches overall which came in the form of a 3-1 win away from home at Fulham but recent defeats at the hands of Crystal Palace and most humiliating of all, a 2-0 loss at Goodison Park against their merseyside rivals Everton.

Tottenham fell foul of an improving Chelsea outfit in midweek as Spurs were handed a 2-0 defeat away from home at Stamford Bridge which also became a third league defeat on the trot for Ange Postecoglou's side following previous back-to-back losses at the hands of Newcastle United and north London rivals Arsenal in 4-0 and 3-2 defeats respectively.

Prior to these recent three defeats on the trot in the English top flight Tottenham had been handed just two defeats within their preceding 12 games overall which also included picking up seven wins in the process so no doubt the visitors will be keen to re-ignite their ailing challenge for a top four finish with a win on merseyside.

However, six of Tottenham's previous seven wins were achieved on home soil at their Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while only one was collected on their travels which came in the shape of a resounding 4-0 win at Villa Park against Villa Park but recent results on the road have left a lot to be desired.

Indeed, Tottenham have managed to capture just one win out of their last eight outings on the road which includes defeats at Brighton, Fulham, Newcastle United and Chelsea so this upcoming trip to Anfield looks to be a tough assignment for Postecoglou & co.
