Fulham vs Luton Town Preview

Fulham and Luton Town will both be keen to make a fresh start to this new Premier League campaign when the English top flight action resumes this weekend and these two lower half teams will lock horns at Craven Cottage with a valuable three points at stake for both sides.

Fulham had started his new season brightly enough as The Cottagers secured all three points in their opening game of the season with a 1-0 win away from home at Everton but Marco Silva's side have since experienced something of a mini-slump as the hosts have failed to win any of their subsequent three games in the Premier League.

Two defeats and a draw have seen Fulham pick up just one further point from a possible nine on offer in recent weeks and having lost 3-0 at home to Brentford and a 5-1 humiliation away from home at Manchester City, The Cottagers look a risky prospect for the straight win markets.

However, a 2-2 draw away from home at London rivals, Arsenal, means that three of Fulham's opening four league matches have produced Over 2.5 goals and indeed, the bigger picture shows seven of Fulham's last 10 matches have seen three goals or more scored.

Following the euphoria of securing promotion up to the Premier League for the first time, Luton Town are now learning the harsh realities of English top flight football after an absence of a few decades, as The Hatters sit joint bottom of the table with fellow promoted side, Burnley.

Three defeats on the trot have brought Luton Town crashing back down to earth following losses against Brighton 4-1, Chelsea 3-0 and a 2-1 loss at home to West Ham just before the international break which would have come as welcome relief for Hatters fans!

Two of Luton's three defeats to date this term have been dealt out to them on their travels and they hit the road again on Saturday to take on Fulham who have only managed to pick up just one win.

The visitors may therefore fancy their chances of opening their account in this season's Premier League with a win at Craven Cottage and this could make for an entertaining and free-scoring encounter with both teams keen to pull themselves further away from the relegation zone with a win here.
