Fulham vs Brighton Preview

Fulham picked up a valuable point on the weekend by way of a 1-1 draw away from home against Tottenham but this result wasn't enough to prevent The Cottagers from dropping down the Premier League table to 10th place.

By contrast, Brighton were also involved in a 1-1 stalemate with Southampton at home on Friday night in a south coast affair which has now helped The Seagulls up into fourth place and early contention for a possible Champions League spot.

After putting together what looked like being a promising five-game unbeaten sequence in the English top flight from towards the end of August through to the end of September which included picking up wins against Leicester City, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest, Fulham have since managed just two wins from their subsequent seven matches.

Recent wins against London rivals Brentford and Crystal Palace in 2-1 and 2-0 victories respectively, The Cottagers have also slipped to three defeats and drawn the other two games in this seven-game period.

Overall results so far this season have been a mixed bag for Marco Silva's side as they have registered five wins, been involved in four draws and lost the other four games, but the goals markets look promising for this upcoming clash as 10 out of Fulham's 13 league matches to date have seen both teams score.

Brighton continued their ascent up the Premier League table with a point against the basement dwellers, Southampton, in Friday night's tussle at the AMEX Stadium but nevertheless, The Seagulls now occupy a place in the top four and the Champions League places as well.

The south coast visitors will no doubt be keen to add to their points tally here on Thursday night in order to maintain their position in the top four pack and having suffered just two defeats so far in this season's Premier League campaign, Brighton look in good shape to at least avoid defeat here.

Both of Brighton's losses so far this term were inflicted upon Fabian Hürzeler's side on their travels with defeats incurred at Chelsea and Liverpool respectively but The Seagulls have also collected important wins on the road at Everton, Newcastle United and Bournemouth respectively as well.

However, having managed to capture just four wins within their previous 19 away games in the Premier League overall along with being dealt nine defeats in the process, the goals market looks appealing here especially as 10 out of Brighton's 13 league matches overall have resulted in both teams hitting the back of the net.
