Fulham vs Arsenal Preview

Fulham will be seeking back-to-back Premier League wins at home on Sunday afternoon when they play host to Arsenal in an all-London encounter at Craven Cottage following a 3-1 home win against Brighton on Thursday night which in turn has helped lift The Cottagers up into sixth place in the table.

Arsenal claimed a third league win on the trot in the domestic top flight during the week when they registered a solid 2-0 home win against Manchester United which maintained The Gunners' position in the top four pack of the Premier League standings.

That midweek 3-1 home win against Brighton became a third win in five games overall for Fulham who had previously captured important wins against Brentford and Crystal Palace in 2-1 and 2-0 victories respectively, and these results will give Marco Silva's side plenty of confidence ahead of Sunday's clash.

Fulham's best run of results so far this season was a five-match unbeaten sequence from towards the end of August through to the end of September which included picking up wins against Leicester City, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.

However, subsequent results have seen The Cottagers lose three of their following eight games, two draws and three wins, while the goals market looks promising as 11 out of Fulham's 14 matches to date have resulted in both teams scoring.

Recent defeats away from home at Bournemouth and Newcastle United have prevented Mikel Arteta's side from making inroads into this seven-point deficit but The Gunners' recent flurry of victories will also give the north London side plenty of confidence when they make their way to Craven Cottage for Sunday afternoon's encounter down by the Thames.

Six out of Arsenal's last 10 matches overall in the Premier League have resulted in both teams scoring and the bigger picture shows Arsenal have slipped to just two defeats within their last 16 outings on the road in the English top flight as well.
