Everton gained their first point of this new Premier League season last weekend when The Toffees earned a 1-1 draw away from home at fellow strugglers Leicester City at the King Power Stadium but once again the merseyside club saw a lead vanish as Leicester City drew level with about 20 minutes left on the clock.

Nevertheless, Everton manager Sean Dyche will be hoping that last weekend's point will be the platform for greater things and with Everton returning to Goodison Park for this Saturday afternoon's clash with Crystal Palace, The Toffees look to have a decent chance of claiming their first win of this new English top flight season.

Everton had previously slipped to four defeats on the trot to start the new campaign off in disastrous fashion following losses at the hands of Brighton, Tottenham, Bournemouth and Aston Villa respectively, but the hosts still have reason to feel confident about turning things around.

The hosts had ended last season's campaign in promising fashion as The Toffees had been handed just one defeat in their final six league matches of last term whilst also collecting four wins in the process; victories against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool, Brentford and Sheffield United were also all achieved on home soil at Goodison Park as well.

Crystal Palace have also yet to register their first win of this new Premier League campaign as The Eagles have drawn three but lost twice within their opening five games of this new term which has placed the London club in a lowly 16th place in the Premier League table ahead of this weekend's action.

Palace had been handed early back-to-back defeats at the start of the season to the likes of fellow London clubs Brentford and West Ham respectively but Oli Glasner's side have steadied the ship somewhat by picking up points in stalemates with Chelsea, Leicester City and Manchester United, in 1-1, 2-2 and 0-0 draws respectively.

The visitors had also ended last season's campaign with a flourish as The Eagles put together a solid and impressive looking seven-match unbeaten sequence which included picking up no fewer than six wins in the process.

Two of these six wins were recorded on their travels with wins on the road at Liverpool and Wolves, but results away from home overall in the English top tier have left a lot to be desired from Crystal Palace's perspective.

Indeed, Palace have managed to collect just two wins in their previous 15 outings on the road in the domestic top flight and this also includes slipping to seven defeats as well.
