Crystal Palace produced one of the biggest upsets in this season's Premier League campaign last weekend when they registered a 1-0 win away from home at Anfield against Liverpool which helped The Eagles to a useful looking eight-point cushion above the relegation zone, while West Ham suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to London rivals Fulham last Sunday which resulted with The Hammers dropping down to eighth place in the top flight table.

Crystal Palace had previously failed to win any of their preceding five games in the English top tier following two draws and three defeats; points picked up in draws with Luton Town and Nottingham Forest were overshadowed by losses incurred against Tottenham, Bournemouth and Manchester City, so to beat Liverpool at their fortress last weekend was indeed a commendable performance.

The bigger picture shows Crystal Palace have managed to capture just four wins from their last 21 games overall in the Premier League but the positive aspect is that three of these four victories were achieved on home soil at Selhurst Park with wins against Brentford, Sheffield United and Burnley.

Following four defeats at home on the trot earlier, Crystal Palace have since lost just twice in their subsequent six games in their own backyard, while goals have also been flowing with seven of their last 10 games resulting in Over 2.5 goals as well.

West Ham were dealt a disappointing defeat at home to Fulham last weekend which saw the east end London club drop down the standings to eighth place but although the visitors have produced a mixed bag of results in recent weeks in the Premier League, they have still collected wins against Brentford, Everton and Wolves respectively.

In addition to these victories, West Ham have picked up points in draws with Burnley, Aston Villa and Tottenham which will give David Moyes' side some confidence and belief that they can get something from this upcoming clash at Selhurst Park.

However, the mixed bag of results does indicate and underline West Ham's inconsistent streak so perhaps the goals market is the most attractive option for this upcoming encounter on Sunday afternoon especially as six of West Ham's last 10 games have also resulted in three or more goals being scored.

The goals ratio increases even higher when looking at West Ham's results away from home in the English top flight as eight of The Hammers' last 10 outings on the road have also resulted in Over 2.5 goals as well.
