Crystal Palace gained a valuable point by way of a 0-0 draw away from home at Bournemouth on Boxing Day as The Eagles tightened up at the back following their previous 5-1 mauling at the hands of Arsenal and Palace now sit three points above the relegation zone ahead of Sunday's encounter against Southampton.

As for Southampton, it was another dismal performance in the Premier League and another defeat for The Saints as they succumbed to a 1-0 loss at home to West Ham leaving the south coast club cast adrift at the bottom of the table and now nine points from safety after Wolves registered a 2-0 home win against Manchester United.

League wins have been hard to come by for Crystal Palace as Oliver Glasner's side have managed to capture just three wins so far in this season's Premier League campaign but nevertheless wins against Tottenham, Ipswich Town and Brighton, the latter being a 3-1 win away from home at The Amex Stadium will still give Palace plenty of confidence.

Following the win against Everton, Southampton have slumped to losses at the hands of Wolves, Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Tottenham and West Ham and although their upcoming hosts Crystal Palace sit just above the relegation zone, the signs are not looking good for Ivan Juric and his new Saints side on Sunday afternoon.

Indeed, Southampton have lost seven out of their last nine away games in the Premier League this season, scoring just four goals but conceding a total of 15 goals in reply.
