Premier League, played Sunday, May 19th, 2024
Here is our Brighton v Man Utd tip and game preview. Based on our detailed analysis of statistics listed below and other factors, we predicted both teams to not score in this game, under 2.5 goals, and a Man Utd away win. Our confidence in this tip was moderate relative to other tips.
Brighton's slump in form towards the end of this season's Premier League campaign continued on Wednesday night when The Seagulls were handed a 2-1 defeat at home by a resurgent Chelsea outfit at the AMEX Stadium but although Brighton hold home advantage once again on Sunday afternoon, the hosts have produced a string of disappointing results of late in the English top flight.
Indeed, Brighton have managed to register just one win from their previous nine games overall in the domestic top flight which came in the form of a narrow 1-0 home win against Aston Villa but there's been little to celebrate for Roberto de Zerbi's side in recent weeks as The Seagulls have also been involved in three draws along with slipping to no fewer than five defeats during this period as well.
Losses at the hands of Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Bournemouth and Chelsea have placed Brighton in a mid-table position of 10th place although they still have their impressive start to this season to thank for its contribution.
Brighton had picked up five wins in their opening six games of the campaign which included wins at their AMEX Stadium against Luton Town, Newcastle United and Bournemouth, but recent games have seen Brighton slump to three defeats in their last four home games.
Manchester United produced a match-winning performance at Old Trafford on Wednesday night when they saw off Eddie Howe's Newcastle United side with a 3-2 victory which saw the Red Devils bounce back from two defeats on the trot, losing at the hands of Crystal Palace and Arsenal respectively.
However, although Erik ten Hag's side racked up an impressive four-match winning streak from early February through to mid-February which consisted of victories over the likes of Wolves, West Ham, Aston Villa and Luton Town respectively, league wins in the top flight have been hard to come by in subsequent games.
The visitors have managed to capture just three wins out of their subsequent 12 games overall in the Premier League, each of which have been achieved on home soil at Old Trafford with wins against Everton, Sheffield United and Newcastle United along with being handed five defeats as well.
Manchester United have also failed to win any of their last five away games in the Premier League as well, but their recent home win against Newcastle United will give the visitors a welcome boost.
Brighton v Manchester United Verdict
Brighton and Manchester United have produced some disappointing results of late in the Premier League but with the likes of Mainoo, Garnacho and Hojlund producing match-winning displays against Newcastle United in midweek, the visitors look the more likely to find a way to collect all three points down on the south coast on Sunday afternoon.
Therefore, our main bet will be Manchester Utd win @ 3.10
Other side bets worth considering:
Under 2.5 goals @ 3.40
Correct Score: Manchester Utd 1-0 @ 23.00
