Both Brighton and Liverpool were in European action in midweek and both sides gained positive results in their respective matches against Marseille and Union St Gilloise, so an interesting encounter is expected to unfold at the AMEX Stadium on Sunday afternoon down on the south coast, especially as both teams sit in the top six of the Premier League standings with just one point separating the two clubs.

Brighton picked up a point in a 2-2 draw away from home at French Ligue 1 side, Marseille, in their midweek Europa League tie, but although The Seagulls got themselves off the mark in their Group B campaign of that competition, that result now extends Brighton's winless run in all competitions to three games.
