Despite picking up a solid point on the weekend in the Premier League which came in the form of a 1-1 draw away from home at Newcastle United, Brighton's season is in danger of fizzling out as The Seagulls have managed to record just one win from their last eight games overall so the south coast club will be eager to set the record straight on Wednesday night, while Chelsea's recovery continued with a 3-2 win away from home at Nottingham Forest on the weekend.

Brighton's singular success within their last eight games in the Premier League came courtesy of a 1-0 home win against Aston Villa but Roberto de Zerbi's side have also slipped to four defeats within this period as The Seagulls have been dealt losses at the hands of Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Bournemouth while the bigger picture shows Brighton have won just twice in their last 11 games overall.

A previous 1-0 home win against Nottingham Forest has just about contributed to a top half position of 10th place but league wins have been more sporadic than a regular occurrence for the hosts and they're expected to face a tough challenge in the shape of a resurgent Chelsea outfit on Wednesday night at the AMEX Stadium.
