Oxford United ended the final day of the League One season on a positive note as The U's registered a 2-1 win away from home at Exeter City which also helped secure Oxford's place in the play-offs, while Peterborough United had already booked their place as The Posh finished seven points above their upcoming hosts and finished up with a 3-3 draw at home against fellow high-flyers, Bolton Wanderers.

Following a rather lean period of results in the English third tier which produced just the single victory for Oxford United from the end of January through to early March which came in the form of a 4-2 home win against Wigan Athletic but also included slipping to four defeats as well, The U's finished the regular season in promising form.

Despite being handed four defeats within their final nine games of the season which included defeats on the road at Oxford United and Cheltenham Town, Peterborough United also picked up four important wins over Leyton Orient, Port Vale, Fleetwood Town and Bristol Rovers to cement their top six finish in the division.

The bigger picture shows Peterborough United have been dealt just these four defeats out of their last 14 league matches overall and having also picked up nine wins in the process, Darren Ferguson's side still represent a major threat to Oxford United when the two teams face off at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday night.
