West Brom have produced an encouraging start to this new Championship campaign as The Baggies still remain unbeaten after their opening three league games of the new term and the west midlands club head into Saturday afternoon's clash on the back of a 2-1 win away from home at Stoke City, while Swansea City had to settle for a point in the Welsh derby last weekend as they drew 1-1 with Cardiff City.

West Brom have had to dust themselves off after the disappointment of being bundled out of the Championship play-off semi-finals at the end of last season when they suffered a heavy 3-1 defeat in the 2nd leg, but Carlos Corberan's side have picked up a couple of important wins already in this new season.

Victories achieved on the road at QPR 3-1 and the aforementioned 2-1 win away from home at Stoke City will serve as a welcome boost for West Brom as they seek their first home win of the season at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.

The bigger picture shows West Brom have been handed just four defeats within their last 19 league matches in the English second tier, collecting eight wins and being involved in no fewer than seven draws as well; 11 of these 19 games have also resulted in both teams scoring.

Swansea City have made an indifferent start to this new Championship season as the Welsh visitors have won, drawn and lost in equal measure so far in their opening three games of this new term.

A 1-0 loss away from home at Middlesbrough on the opening day of the new season has been followed up by a resounding 3-0 home win against Preston NE along with a 1-1 draw at home with fierce rivals Cardiff City, and these last two results will also give Swansea City plenty of confidence ahead of their trip to the west midlands on Saturday.

Swansea City finished last season's Championship campaign in a disappointing 14th place and needless to say The Swans will be keen to produce a much better showing of themselves this time around as the bigger picture shows the visitors have slipped to just five defeats within their last 16 league matches overall.

However, results away from home have been far less convincing as The Swans have managed to capture just three victories from their last 14 outings on the road which suggests that the visitors may struggle to gain the upper hand here at The Hawthorns.
