Coventry City's season opener last weekend in the Championship went the same way as the Sky Blues finished their last campaign in the English second tier as Mark Robins's side suffered a 1-0 defeat away from home at Stoke City, while by contrast, Oxford United produced a triumphant return to the Championship with a solid 2-0 home win against Norwich City.

The U's finished last season's campaign in solid fashion as the visitors were handed just the single defeat in their final 11 matches of the season which came in the form of a 1-0 defeat at home to Lincoln City but also includes picking up seven wins in the process as well.

Results away from home have also been encouraging for Des Buckingham's side as Oxford United have lost just twice in their previous 10 outings on the road in all competitions which includes six wins as well, so The U's should not be ruled out here on Friday night.
