Here is our Bristol City v Burnley tip and game preview. Based on our detailed analysis of statistics listed below and other factors, we predicted both teams to not score in this game, under 2.5 goals, and a Burnley away win. Our confidence in this tip was moderate relative to other tips.
Bristol City headed into the international break on the back of an impressive 2-0 win away from home at Norwich City which lifted The Robins up into a mid-table position of 10th place in the Championship table, while Burnley also registered a win last time out by way of a 1-0 home win against Swansea City.
Despite making a slow and disappointing start to this Championship season which saw the west country hosts produce just one win from their opening five games along with two defeats, Bristol City have staged a solid and stubborn looking comeback which has yielded four wins, five draws and have been dealt just one further loss in their subsequent 10 games overall.
Victories gained over Oxford United, Middlesbrough, Preston NE and Norwich City have helped lift Liam Manning's side up into a more respectable looking 10th place in the Championship table where they now trail the play-off pack by a mere three points heading into this weekend.
However, standing in their way are fourth placed Burnley who will be eager to return back to the top flight at the first time of asking, but Bristol City have made themselves a tough unit to beat in recent times, so this could be an interesting battle at Ashton Gate.
Goals may be in short supply though as four out of Bristol City's seven home games to date have resulted in Under 2.5 goals (57.1%).
Burnley returned to winning ways just before the international break when they chalked up a 1-0 home win against Swansea City which in turn ended a previously worrying four-game winless run in the English second tier.
As expected, the Lancashire club find themselves in the play-off pack as The Clarets seek a swift return to the Premier League at the first time of asking and having slipped to just two defeats so far this season, the visitors look in good shape to achieve at least a play-off spot this term.
Losses on the road at Sunderland and Millwall have been Burnley's only slip-ups so far while Scott Parker's side have also collected seven wins within their 15 matches played to date along with picking up useful points in six draws as well.
However, there have been too many stalemates for Burnley's liking and incidentally, each of the six draws have all resulted in Under 2.5 goals as well, three of which have been away from home.
With just two away wins from their eight outings on the road to date, the goals market may be the best option here especially as seven of these eight away games have also resulted in Under 2.5 goals.
Bristol City v Burnley Verdict
A much improved Bristol City look set to hold their own against Burnley in what could be a low-scoring affair.
Therefore, our main bet will be Under 2.5 goals @ 1.61
Other side bets worth considering:
Burnley win @ 2.45 Burnley win & Under 2.5 goals @ 4.75
