Jamaica were handed a second defeat on the trot in Group B of the Copa America when they suffered a 3-1 loss to Ecuador which has almost certainly dumped the Reggae Boyz out of the competition unless they can produce a footballing miracle, while Venezuela in contrast secured a second win on the trot in the group after recording a 1-0 win against Mexico to take them to the top of the Group B table with the maximum six points.

Back-to-back defeats at the hands of Mexico 1-0 on matchday 1 followed by the aforementioned 3-1 loss to Ecuador on matchday 2 have all but done for for Heimir Hallgrimsson's side who will now be up against the group leaders, Venezuela, at the Q2 Stadium for the final game of the group stage.

Venezuela know they are on the threshold of making it out of the group stage and into the quarter-finals of this Copa America tournament as they have registered impressive back-to-back wins against Ecuador and Mexico in 2-1 and 1-0 victories respectively and just a point against Jamaica in their final group match would seal their place in the final eight teams.

Venezuela have achieved a sustained and solid sequence of results in all competitions under national coach, Fernando Batista, as La Vinotinto have been dealt just three defeats within their 15 internationals under his command, two of which were against Colombia, the other against Italy.

Batista's side have also picked up seven wins in the process which includes notable wins against Paraguay, Chile, Ecuador and Mexico along with being involved in five draws as well.

An encouraging start to their CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying campaign has seen Venezuela lose just once in their opening six games which consists of two wins and three draws including victories over Paraguay and Chile, so they are expected to be tough opponents for Jamaica in this upcoming clash at the Q2 Stadium.
