Wednesday night brings us the 1st legs of the 3rd Qualifying Round of the Champions League and features this upcoming contest between Slovakian club, Slovan Bratislava, and Israeli visitors, Maccabi Haifa, when the two teams meet at the Štadión Tehelné pole and both of whom have progressed through the earlier qualifying rounds as well.

Onto Maccabi Haifa and the Israeli visitors have yet to kick a ball in anger on the domestic front but nevertheless, they have also progressed through the two earlier qualifying rounds of this season's Champions League to set up this clash with Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday night.

In the 1st Qualifying Round, Maccabi Haifa made light work of their tie against Maltese club, Hamrun Spartans, running out comfortable 6-1 winners on aggregate but the Israeli side needed extra-time against Moldovan club, Sheriff, as the scores were level at 2-2 at the end of normal time in the 2nd leg.

Two quick-fire goals in extra-time finally saw Maccabi Haifa overpower their opponents but they won't want a repeat of that outcome in this upcoming two-legged tie against Slovan Bratislava.
