Dynamo Kiev were dealt a 3-2 loss away from home at Union Berlin in their final club friendly before entering the Champions League qualifying phase at the 2nd round qualifying stage, while Serbian outfit Partizan Belgrade registered a 1-0 win away from home at Napredak to open their account in the domestic Super Liga season in their first game of the new campaign.

Dynamo Kiev finished runners-up at the end of their previous campaign in the Ukrainian Premier League behind the title winners Shakhtar Donetsk but nevertheless this meant that Dynamo Kiev earned a place in this season's Champions League qualifiers.

Since beating Rukh Vynnyky 2-1 away from home in the final game of last season's campaign, Dynamo Kiev have played a string of club friendlies which have seen the hosts lose just once in their six warm-up games, that being the aforementioned defeat to Union Berlin.

However, wins against Inhulets', Brondby and Mamelodi Sundowns will give Oleksandr Shovkovskyi's side plenty of confidence for this upcoming important 1st leg tie against Partizan on Tuesday night.

Partizan began their new Serbian Super Liga season off with all three points as they registered a 1-0 win on the road at Napredak which will no doubt give the visitors a welcome boost ahead of this tough looking trip to the NSK Olimpiiskyi for Tuesday night's 1st leg tie.

The visitors had previously enjoyed a successful season previously in the Serbian top flight as Aleksandar Stanojevic's side had also finished runners-up in their domestic top flight, finishing in second place behind Red Star Belgrade at the conclusion of the Championship Round.

Since finishing last season's campaign with a 2-2 draw at home against Radnicki Kragujevac, Partizan played four warm-up friendlies which resulted with the visitors gaining just one win in their four matches played; a win on penalties against Dinamo Moscow was offset by defeats suffered at the hands of Bravo and CSKA Moscow, so the visitors would have been mightily relieved with their 1-0 win at Napredak.

Results away from home have also been fairly indifferent for Partizan as they have managed to collect just three wins from their last 10 outings on the road in all competitions which have been achieved against the likes of Cukaricki, Dinamo Moscow and Napredak.

However, Partizan have also slipped to five defeats on their travels as well within these last 10 away games which suggests the Serbian visitors may have a tough 90 minutes ahead of them on Tuesday night.
