CRB suffered a 1-0 defeat away from home at fourth placed Vila Nova last time out in the Brazilian second tier which has landed the hosts in the bottom four of the Serie B table, while Sport Recife lifted themselves up into sixth place in the table thanks to a solid and impressive 2-0 win on the road at Avai and the visitors will now be looking to make it three wins on the trot when they make their way to the Estádio Rei Pelé.
