Anderlecht will play host to St Truiden in their opening game of this new Belgian top flight season with the home side looking to emulate last season's runners-up position at the end of the regular season this time around in their quest for Champions League football next season, while St Truiden finished in a mid-table position of ninth place and missed out on Europa Conference League qualification for this term.

Three defeats within these final eight games also saw St Truiden slip to defeats at the hands of OH Leuven and home and away losses to Gent, while results away from home continued to disappoint as St Truiden managed to capture just one win in their last 12 outings on the road along with being handed no fewer than eight defeats in the process which does not bode well for this upcoming trip to face Anderlecht on Saturday evening.
