Both Argentina and South Africa were left pointless after their respective opening games in Group G as both suffered defeats and these two nations will now face each other at the Dunedin Stadium on Friday lunchtime no doubt looking to stay in the hunt for a possible top two finish in the group.

Argentina were handed a narrow 1-0 defeat by Italy in their opening game of the group stage but recent previous results suggest that the South Americans will feel they stand a decent chance of bouncing back with all three points against their lower-ranked opposition, 54th placed South Africa, on Friday.

The bigger picture shows South Africa have won just four out of their last 13 matches in all competitions and this sort of form may not be enough to keep pace with an Argentina outfit who will still be smarting at their defeat to Italy and will be wanting to set the record straight in no uncertain terms on Friday lunchtime.
